New Temple for Lord Balaji
It was during late 1970, Late (Dr.) Baman Das Banerjee, who was Eye surgeon by profession, inspired by the Lord within the heart to worship Him in the deity form in his house. He then bought a beautiful life size deity of Lord Balaji from South India. He worshipped the Lord for about 25 years.
As he was getting old, it was his concern that who will take care of the deity. Meanwhile, he used to visit ISKCON Centre, he was very much impressed by the deity worship standards. Then he was inspired to offer this deity to the ISKCON on a condition that a beautiful temple will be built for Lord Balaji. From then the Lord Balaji is being worshipped at ISKCON Pune as per the standards prescribed in Vedic Texts. He also offered his property worth Rs. 1.25 Crore which helped us in acquiring the land for New Vedic Cultural Centre at Katraj-Kondhwa bypass Road.

We have commissioned M/S Vivek Vedic Arts for the sculpting work of Lord Balaji Temple. This work is currently going on in full swing at Chennai in exquisite South Indian architecture style. The stone for the temple was procured from Kanyakumari and almost 40% of the work is complete. It is expected that within a month's time, the mounting of the sculpted stones will start.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank wholeheartedly Sriman Sureshbhai K. Jadhav for taking on the onus of construction and basement of the Lord Balaji Temple. Sriman Sureshbhai K. Jadhav has been indeed magnanimous and very generous in sponsoring the construction work of the basement for the Lord Balaji temple. Lord Balaji Temple sculpting work at Chennai is completed. Now assembling of the sculpted stone is started at New Temple site.
